住在美國紐約一棟公寓的JP Brammer正在享受悠閒的週末，突然聽到門外有奇怪的聲音，從門上的小洞往外看，竟然是3團「毛毛的」找上門，包括2只狗狗和1只貓咪，這讓他驚訝不已。
JP Brammer一打開門，2只狗狗興奮地搖着尾巴，而貓咪竟然很主動地鑽進他家，在傢俱上舒服地抓起養來，接着大喇喇地在客廳裡探險，彷彿當作自己家。JP Brammer表示，「通常我要摸別人家的寵物之前，都會先詢問，不過牠們太乖了，我實在忍不住。」

JP Brammer到處找這3只毛還是哪來的，一路找到樓上，發現鄰居家的門竟然是開的，顯然這3位毛客人就是從這裡逃家的，他先帶2只狗狗回家，接着思考怎麼說服貓咪回家，沒想到更神奇的事發生了，「正當我在煩惱的時候，門外又有動靜了，2只狗狗又出現，一臉像是在說『嗨～』。」原來這2只狗狗學會開門技能！
JP Brammer擔心貓咪跟狗狗跑出公寓，他決定當一天「毛褓姆」，但是爲了顧貓狗他又餓又沒辦法出門，幸好下午1點一名有養寵物的鄰居來當救兵，借了一些牽繩、玩具和飼料，讓3只毛孩安分地待着，貓咪甚至都睡着了。

最後飼主終於回家，JP Brammer把3只毛孩帶回家，「我總算鬆了一口氣」，他告訴飼主發生的事，也提醒要注意門別再讓貓狗打開。隔2天JP Brammer到超市買東西回家，一進門就聽到「喵～」，沒錯，那隻貓咪又回來了，這次JP Brammer也放棄要他回家，乾脆一起窩在牀上看動畫片了。
