拉長還是搞大？

Extend擴展；延展。記住這個詞的關鍵是“展”， “to stretch out”，比如：伸展你的手臂就可以說extend your arm；延期可以說the show has been extended;伸出援手 extend the hand of friendship to。也含有提供；給予的意思，比如發出邀請extend an invitation

Expand擴大；擴張。記住這個詞的關鍵是“擴大地盤”，比如擴大生意business expands （擴大到不同地方；不同領域等）；人數擴大numbers are expanding。這個詞也可以做“詳述”，比如I’m waiting for her to expand.

簡單說，這兩個詞，一個是拉長，一個是搞大：If you extend your arm, you make it longer. If your waist expands, it’s getting larger.
