Ben wasaloneon the platform.

The last train of the night had leftthirty minutes ago, and the station wassilentexcept for the hum of flickering overhead lights.

He had missed his ride home.

Sighing, he pulled out his phone—no signal. Typical.

Then, from down the dark tunnel, he heard it.

Atrain whistle.

Ben frowned. There weren’t supposed to be any more trains tonight. But as he peered into the tunnel, he saw a faint glow—two headlights approaching.

The railsshuddered, the groundvibrated beneath his feet, and within seconds, a trainpulled into the station.

It wasold—black iron, tarnished metal, like something from a history book. There wasno logo, no train number, only a single open door inviting him inside.

Ben hesitated.Something felt off.

Then he heard the voice.

“All aboard.”

It wassoft, almost a whisper, but itechoed from nowhere.

The doorsbegan to close.

Before he could think,his feet moved on their own.

He stepped onto the train.

The interior wasdimly lit, the air thick with the scent ofold leather and smoke. The seats wereplush velvet, the floor covered in a carpet that lookedtoo new for such an old train.

But it was thepassengersthat made his breath catch.

They sat in silence, staring ahead.

Theirclothes were outdated, like something from the1940s or 1950s. Their faces weretoo pale, their expressionstoo empty.

Ben swallowed hard.

“Uh… where is this train going?” he asked, forcing a laugh.

Nobody answered.

The train began tomove.

He turned to the window, expecting to see the city lights blur past.

Instead, all he saw wasblackness.

No streets. No buildings.Just endless dark.

His chest tightened.

“Excuse me,” he said, stepping toward the nearest passenger. “Where are we—”

The man turned his headtoo slowly, his neck cracking with the motion.

His eyes werehollow, his mouthcurled into a too-wide smile.

“You shouldn’t be here.”

Ben stumbled back.The other passengers turned, too.

All of them were smiling.

The trainsped up, the wallsgroaning, the lightsflickering wildly.

“Let me off!”Ben shouted, running to the door.

The conductor stood there now.

Tall. Thin. His uniformtoo pristine.

“All aboard,”he whispered.“No stops.”

Ben’s breath came in short gasps. He slammed his fists against the door, butit wouldn’t open.

The train was movingfaster and faster, the darkness outsidegrowing deeper.

Then, the overhead lightsflickered out completely.

And in the pitch black, the whispers returned.

“You shouldn’t be here.”

The train kept going.

And it never stopped.

就在這時，他聽見了火車汽笛聲。

本皺起眉。今晚不該再有列車經過。

他擡頭望向隧道，看到遠處有微弱的光亮——兩道車頭燈正緩緩駛來。

鐵軌開始震顫，腳下的地面輕微顫動，幾秒鐘後，一列古老的火車駛入站臺。

它看起來像是從歷史書裡走出來的——黑色鐵皮，生鏽的金屬，車身上沒有標誌，沒有編號，只有一扇敞開的車門，彷彿在邀請他進去。

本猶豫了。

有什麼地方不對勁。

然後，他聽見了一個聲音。

“請上車。”

那聲音輕柔得像耳語，卻迴響在整個車站。

車門緩緩關上。

沒經過大腦思考，他的腳已經邁了上去。

車廂昏暗幽靜，空氣中瀰漫着舊皮革和煙霧的氣味。座椅是天鵝絨包裹的，地毯看起來太新了，不像是屬於這麼一列老火車的東西。

但乘客纔是最讓他頭皮發麻的部分。

他們全都一言不發，直直地盯着前方。

他們的衣着過時，像是四五十年代的服飾。他們的皮膚蒼白得不自然，表情空洞至極。

本吞了吞口水。

**“呃……請問這列車開往哪裡？”**他故作輕鬆地問道。

沒人回答。

列車開始緩緩移動。

他望向窗外，期待看到城市的燈光在夜色中掠過。

但窗外，只有無盡的黑暗。

沒有街道，沒有建築。

什麼都沒有。

本的胸口猛地一緊。

他轉向最近的一位乘客，小心翼翼地問：“對不起，您知道我們要去哪嗎？”

男人緩慢地扭動脖子，關節發出令人牙酸的咔咔聲。

他的眼睛空洞無神，嘴角緩緩咧開一個過大的微笑。

“你不該在這裡。”

本猛地向後退了一步。

所有的乘客都轉過頭，盯着他。

他們全都在笑。

列車猛然加速，牆壁開始震顫，車燈瘋狂閃爍。

**“讓我下車！”**本喊道，衝向車門。

列車長站在那裡。

高瘦，制服整潔得不合常理。

他低聲說道：“請上車。沒有停靠站。”

本的呼吸變得急促。他用力拍打車門，但門紋絲不動。

列車越來越快，窗外的黑暗越發深邃。

然後，車廂的燈光徹底熄滅。

在伸手不見五指的黑暗中，他聽見了耳語。

“你不該在這裡。”

列車繼續前行。

它永遠沒有停靠站。
